The NEW Venice Dress from New Horizons Designs

Anybody who knows me, knows that I am not one to where dresses. I was a bit of a tom boy growing up and I suppose it carried over into adulthood. I’ve always had a hard time finding dresses that fit properly anyway. So when I was selected to test this new Venice Dress from New Horizons Designs, I have to admit I was more than just a little nervous.

But, I do believe this pattern has converted me to a dress-wearer! Just look at how beautifully turned out!

Venice Dress, Final 4

Great care and attention was put into the fit and style of this dress. No matter your size or body type, the Venice Dress is so flattering.

The Details:

It features different sleeve options:

  • Long sleeve
  • Long split sleeve
  • Elbow-length split sleeve
  • Sleeveless

…and, different hemline options:

  • Maxi
  • High-low curved hem
  • Mini curved hem

My dress features the elbow- length sleeves and high-low hemline, which hits at the knees in the front and the ankles in the back.

The Venice Dress also comes with optional pockets and strap to connect the shoulders in the back. With my narrow shoulders, I should have used the strap on mine. But I didn’t realize how much it was slouching till I was going through all my photos. Will be sure to include it in the next one. Oh yes! There will definitely be more of these dresses in my closet in the near future 😉

My husband climbed up in a tree to take these pictures for me. It was a great idea but makes it difficult to see the hemline. Here is a picture of the first dress I made for testing that shows it better:

The sleeves are all wrong here and the center seam shouldn’t be there, but this photo shows the hemline perfectly 🙂
